Yoshii Yuta, Fujimaki Hajime, and Kikuhara Kisuke are middle-aged men, with different personalities and tastes, who were friends in middle school. Back in 1988, they were in a movie club and absorbed in making kung-fu movies. Now, at the age of 51, they feel like their lives are stuck in a dead end. One day, news breaks about human bones discovered at a construction site in Danbe. Kisuke feels uncomfortable when he hears the news, because Danbe is the town where he spent his middle school days with Yuta and Hajime.
